How I Made a Video with Pictory in 5 Minutes

A few days ago, I wanted to turn one of my blog posts into a short, engaging video for social media. Normally, editing videos takes me hours — finding clips, adding text, music, transitions… But this time, I decided to try Pictory.ai, an AI video creation tool (text to video generator)that promises to make the whole process automatic. Here’s how it went.

Step 1: Choosing My Script

I started by selecting one of my existing blog posts about AI productivity tools.To do this, we use the text to video generator option. In Pictory, you can either paste a script, import a blog URL, or upload your own text file. I simply pasted the article link, and in seconds, Pictory analyzed it and extracted the main key points.

Step 2: Letting Pictory Generate the Scenes Using Text to Video Generator

Once the text was ready, Pictory automatically created a storyboard — scene by scene — with relevant video clips and subtitles already matched to each line. Honestly, this part felt almost magical. The visuals it chose were surprisingly accurate to the tone and topic of the article.

Step 3: Customizing the Look

I wanted to make it feel a bit more personal, so I switched to one of their modern templates, changed the brand colors, and added background music. The interface is drag-and-drop simple, and you can adjust text, fonts, or transitions with just a few clicks.

1. Choose the video format – square, portrait, widescreen, respectively, choose whether i want a video for a mobile device or for a computer;
2. Before downloading the video, i can see how it looks and if i don’t like it, can possibly edit it;
3. Download button;
4. A list of scenes in the video, as well as the applied subtitles, which i can also easily edit with 1 mouse click;
5. A section where i can add additional text;
6. It shows each of the video scenes, in the correct order… these are the frames from the clip.

After a quick preview, I made a few small tweaks — mainly shortening a few scenes — and clicked Export. Within minutes, the finished video was ready to download in full HD. Total time spent? About 5 minutes.

Final Thoughts
