BLOCKSY – The Best FREE theme , for wordPress
Blocksy is a modern, lightweight and flexible WordPress theme designed for building fast, responsive and visually appealing websites. Available on WordPress, Blocksy is highly customizable, offering advanced features such as a drag-and-drop header builder, dynamic content integration and seamless compatibility with popular page builders such as Elementor and Gutenberg. With its focus on speed and user experience, Blocksy is ideal for creating blogs, portfolios, e-commerce sites and other projects, while maintaining excellent performance and SEO optimization. The theme Has free and premium version. The free version alone is enough for people without coding experience to build a fully functional modern website. The theme currently comes with 40 ready-made templates – Starter Sites, some of which are free. These are decisions that only need to be edited and finished. They are made with a specific vision and direction. They cover every taste of the user.
When installing the theme,a helper plugin is also uploaded with it – Blocksy companion, which is the official plugin for managing the theme.

One of the biggest advantages of Blocksy is the extension system, which allows adding new functionalities without the need for additional coding. Extensions are additional modules that expand the standard capabilities of the Blocksy theme. They are available in both the free and premium versions of the theme.
Blocksy installation

Free version
The installation of Bloksy is like any other theme. From the WordPress admin panel, go to Appearance, Themes, Add New Theme. In the theme search field, type Blocksy. And then press the install button. You’ll quickly spot the active theme—it’s marked with a green check in the top-left corner. Any other installed themes show up too, if there are any.
or you can manually download the theme from (…here)

For example, I use HOSTINGER for hosting service, which in my opinion is the best in this area and offers very cheap and affordable hosting plans for each project. There, during the installation process, the default theme Used is Twenty Twenty-Five v1.0 , which I will deactivate and delete later.

In this form, the theme is fully functional, but has quite simplified functions. For this reason, the installer prompts you to install the accompanying Blocksy plugin – Blocksy Companion. It is advisable to do so, because otherwise you will not have access to templates, extensions and other functions.
This completes the theme installation process and begins the work on its configuration.

A bit further down, I’ve covered the basic theme settings. Take a look if you’re curious or want to explore more. Also, fortunately, the official Blocksy page has complete information about these settings, as well as training videos. The support is really at a very high level.
Theme Setup
The theme setup is done manually, there is no automatic installer. The basic settings found in the HOME menu allow for changes in a fairly wide range. The user can
change: fonts, colors, page views, menu bars, blog settings and much more. These settings can also be accessed from WordPress itself, during the page building process, which I recommend. The reason is that we can visually see the results of our changes to the theme, and not just set something by default.

In the Starter Sites menu, Blocksy makes it easy to get started by offering fully pre-built templates. Instead of starting from scratch, you can simply choose a design and begin customizing.
These templates come packed with everything you need—menus, images, text, graphics, promotional sections, contact forms, and more. As a result, you can launch your site faster and with less effort. Professionally made, they can save us a lot of time and money.

Some features are only available in the paid version. If you see a “PRO” label in the top right corner, it means the feature is exclusive to Blocksy’s paid version.. When we hover over a template, we receive information with which page builders the theme is compatible – Gutenberg, Elementor. … Each template also has a preview that shows us exactly how the site would look. Implementation in our project is done with the import button.
It is important to note the additional functions that can make our site more flexible and professional. They are activated in the Extensions menu, and are also paid and free. By default, all are turned off during the initial installation of the theme.

Plugins
Next comes the Plugins section. Each recommended plugin includes a short note explaining what it does. Sure, you can install them directly through WordPress—but this way is faster and easier.
For example, I needed to build a multilingual website. Naturally, that required a plugin, and Blocksy made it simple to find and install the right one. It’s just that I hadn’t paid much attention to the ones provided by Blocksy, and so I came across the TranslatePress plugin using the Google search engine and reading several forums about it. While the solution, as I later saw, was provided to me from the very beginning. As I said, it just saves a lot of time.
The final section of the settings page shows what’s new in each update. It lists changes made to Blocksy and the Blocksy Companion after every install.
